9:15 - 9:35 am Discussion of the Governor’s new law requiring CUNY and SUNY to provide access to "experiential learning" opportunities, Suri Duitch, University Dean of Continuing Education and Deputy to the Senior University Dean for Academic Affairs Suri Duitch is co-chair (with John Jay President Jeremy Travis) of a task force appointed by the Chancellor to guide the University's implementation of the new law. I invited Suri so she might be able to hear our ideas on how computer science students might be able to satisfy this requirement.

10:10 - 10:15 am Updates from of the Office of Workforce Partnerships, CUNY, Director, Nakisha Evans will discuss the updates on the newly launched Portfolio Development Program for CUNY Seniors, the immersive Python Programming course for Juniors (winter 2016), and CUNY Tech Meetup.
10:15 - 11:00 am NYC Media Lab grant information session, Justin Hendrix, Executive Director of NYC Media Lab, will deliver an info session for faculty, researchers and students on a new funding opportunity relating to new media and technology research and prototypes. Christian Guirnalda from Verizon's Product Innovation team will also present. Connected Futures Research & Prototyping Challenge, sponsored by Verizon Verizon Connected Futures Research and Prototyping Challenge[nycmedialab.org]: an opportunity for faculty and students to collaborate on prototyping new media projects across a range of areas such as the connected home, empowering citizen journalism, virtual reality and more. University teams from accredited NYC universities are eligible to apply for up to $25,000 in funding for their projects. Teams will have the chance to apply for this Challenge in Fall 2015 and the prototyping program will run through Spring 2016. Grant application deadline: December 15, 2015
11:00 - 11:30 am Updates from Executive Vice Chancellor, Vita Rabinowitz, will speak about new initiatives that relate to computer science.
11:30 - 11:50 am CS4ALL, Dr. Leigh Ann DeLyser, Director of Education and Research, CSNYC CSNYC is the private partner in CS4All, the 80M initiative to bring rigorous computer science to every public school in NYC. Leigh Ann will discuss the CS4All initiative and the proposed work plan and timeline for the next 10 years. Leigh Ann will also present two case studies of how CUNY schools are engaging with CSNYC to help the CS4All goals.
